Astrology: The Star of David

by Eileen Galer

Specific moments in time provide for us patterns of energies with which to create or project our intentions. On July 21st of this year we have a very beautiful combination involving all of the planets. This pattern is in effect for most of that day, but particularly appropriate at 12:48pm. This time was chosen since the moon moves quickly. Also, the sign of relationships, Libra, is rising, suggesting that this aspect of our lives is being emphasized.

The pattern itself is a hexagram, or Star of David. This symbol of the Jewish tradition actually comes from India, representing the union between Shiva and Kali with the energies perfectly balanced. The triangle with the point down is the feminine principle, and the point up is the masculine principle. It is these two principles that have been out of balance, resulting in the situation in which the world finds itself today. There is a preponderance of the element of water suggesting emotion, feeling and spirit, with a lot of intensity along with forces to create healing and new beginnings for support and caring (suggested by the three planets in the sign of Cancer) within our relationships.

So seize the moment, and individually and in groups meditate upon the creation of healthy, balanced, and equal relationships.
